I’m going home.
I’m done.
Cara, out.
THAT MAN. THAT FACE.
Benedict Cumberbatch| A few personal favourites
“His features – the huge almond eyes, the sweeping Cupid’s bow, the acute tapering from cheekbones to chin – can, in repose, hint at something extra-terrestrial; lit with animation, however, they’re charmingly boyish.” - Emma John [x]

Jared Harris and Benedict Cumberbatch in the play Period of Adjustment. Does Jared Harris look familiar to you? You might know him as Prof. Moriarty from the latest Sherlock Holmes movie.
I was at Rock of Ages tonight (ignore the critics it’s a wonderfully fun show) when Simon Lipkin referenced on stage that he and Olly Tompsett had been nominated for awards. Having found out they were up for Broadway World awards I went and had a check to see if Benedict has been nominated for Frankenstein and rather wonderfully he has!
Benedict has been nominated for best leading actor in a play for Frankenstein. He is currently in second place with 12% but is losing dismally to David Tennant who has 55% of the vote. Jonny Lee Miller is also nominated (current votes stand at 2%).
Danny Boyle is up for best director for Frankenstein (again in 2nd place and losing by a landslide to Josie Rourke of Much Ado..) Dominic Cooke is also nominated for Clybourne Park which Martin Freeman appeared in at the Royal Court.
Karl Johnson is nominated for best featured actor in a play for Frankenstein (in 2nd place and losing by a significant margin to Tom Bateman of Much Ado - do you see a theme developing?)
Naomie Harris is up for best featured actress in a play for Frankenstein (I can’t see the stats for the other categories but she’s up against heavy hitters like Sheridan Smith for Flare Path and Ruth Wilson for Anna Christie (she should be in the leading actress category!)
Bruno Poet is up for best lighting design for Frankenstein and Mark Tildesley for best scenic design.
Underworld and Ed Clarke are up for best sound design for Frankenstein.
Frankenstein is nominated for best play.
You can begin voting here. Irritatingly you do have to effectively sign up to their forum when submitting your votes. It looks like you can vote once per e-mail address.
David Tennant and Much Ado are obviously going to be very popular so it would be nice if we could give them a run for their money. So abandon the never ending Hello poll and start voting in this instead!
Nominations for the WhatsonStage Awards are likely to open soon too - must definitely remember Benedict and Frankenstein (and indeed Andrew Scott for Emperor and Galilean) for that.
