You grew up with TOS and I love you. I might well just hide under you and my girlfriend when XII comes out cos the amount of people who will see *only* the "second Star Trek" because Benedict is in it will make me want to scream and hurl things at the wall.
First of all; thank you! I just really enjoyed the series as I grew up. My elder brother was my cultural influence and guide, making sure to show me “all the cool stuff” as I grew up - and he still does, which includes a lot of sci-fi. Star Trek, Star Wars and Babylon 5. And later there was series like Buffy, Angel, some Battlestar Galactica, some Stargate, and of course Firefly. Even Ancient Aliens. And the computer/console games… There’s so much more than this, but I can’t just continue rambling about it xD
Well, I’m sorry to hear that. =/ I don’t think you should focus too much on that, though. Try to just enjoy the movie when we get there =) I’m glad to hear that people are so fond of Benedict’s amazing talent that they would watch a movie just to see him in his role. I think there are worse reasons than that to see a movie =) But of course, I see your point of view as well.
Have you seen the first Star Trek?
The original series, or are you talking movies? I grew up with Star Trek: The Original series, Next Generation and Voyager, actually. And I did watch the 2009 movie, yes. (Which is not really the first Star Trek movie. Just thought I should mention it). But don’t ask me about my favourite character - that is way too hard xD I also grew up with Star Wars, which I absolutely love
- but I guess that’s not as relevant :P
I had another wonderful dream, but there was no slash or crack this time
I dreamt that Sherlock and Mycroft were forced to cooperate together, because they were babysitting a baby girl.
Mycroft took his time to play and cuddle. That wasn’t too difficult for him.
Sherlock was rather distanced. But on the other hand, Sherlock didn’t mind making the baby ready for bed, giving her a bath and changing her nappies. Sherlock was Sherlock, he was a bit strange around the baby, but he had his way with her - and he definitively cared about her (even though he would never say that out loud in my dream).
In the end, it made the brothers closer to each other.
It was an absolutely wonderful dream, definitively one I didn’t want to wake up from. Told it to fybakerstreet
here on tumblr, and she spontaneously said: “That’s a fic right there!”
God, this dream made me all soft and goofy.
I’ve opened a RedBubble account on request
It’s a bit scary though.
Sorry for the trolling, anon xD
I will give you a proper answer, but I will put it behind a read more. I don’t think everyone wants to read about me xD But if you do, feel free!
Hello! This is my first ask on Tumblr, ever :I And it goes to you of course! I just thought it would be interesting to hear how members of the fandom got 'sucked into' the fandom, like, why did you start watching the show, and when did you become a 'mad fan'? Also, if your followers would also tell how they became Sherlockians, that'd be cool :D Love your page!
Well, it was my best friend, actually. She’d been nagging me for… I don’t even know how long. And I can be a very hard woman to convince. I think all my friends know that xD Especially when it comes to movies and tv-series, but then something seemingly random can within a second make me change my mind completely. (As an example: The first time I watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show I hated it. (But I should probably mention that I was forced into watching it.) I hated everything about it - until Dr. Scott arrived. There was just something about him. And then I suddenly fell in love with everything concerning the film - and needed to re-watch it. Immediately. xD)
Same thing happened with Sherlock, except I never hated Sherlock. I didn’t even have the time to make up one of my stubborn opinions about it. Not even nine minutes into the first episode and I was madly in love with everything about it. I have never fallen so quickly and so hard for a tv-series before. The few seconds from “How fresh?” to the end of the next sentence, “Let’s start with the riding crop.” was all the time I needed.
That’s when that damn Cumberbatch-man started to take over my life xD And that’s when I started this blog =) To get some Cumbersteam out.
awesome! can you edit yourself a twilight vamp too?
Faked my own eye colour, made my hair black instead of aubergine and I still don’t look the least bit like Femiarty. Worst Femiarty ever!
Oh god. Posted on the wrong blog. Oh well. I have a pic with the outfit as well. But seriously, I am just so incredibly tired. (And I can almost see James Dean in the background)
Now I'm curious, what is your favorite pokemon?
Well, I was only into the first two rounds of pokèmon, since I kinda started to grow up after that. :P
But I remember I used to love Poliwag. It was simply so cuuuuute. I mean, look at it!
But my all-time favourite was Gengar. I think I have a lot in common with Gengar. Practical jokes for instance xD
how do you handle the trolls?!?!?? i always get mad :( :( i think im a bit short temperd
Well. I honestly find them hilarious, first of all. Really! When I see a troll ask which I can crack a bad pun on, I’m game! xD
However: If people drops constructive criticism in my ask, it’s something entirely different. If they do, I read it and take it seriously. This kind of criticism, in contrast to the troll-hate, is valuable and something I can learn from.
And that’s just who I am, I guess. In addition to being an incurable dork, and a part-time troll myself, of course.
But when I’m trolling I don’t spread hate (and I don’t go anon on tumblr xD). You know, I can deal with the troll-hate I get myself. I can handle that. But you never know - suddenly you’ve hurt someone. And I don’t want that.
No, I stick to trolling my friends, mostly. :) I know them, and they know me.
I've also been listening to Kaizers Orchestra, I quite like it (and norwegian is a beautiful language)! Do you know any other musician/bands that sing in norwegian?
This warms a fangirl heart! I honestly love Kaizers Orchestra. xD And I am so impressed people (who doesn’t even understand the language) seem to like the music. I am mindblown.
Now, I have no idea what genre you’re looking for, but let me just link you to some genre. The thing about Norwegian is that we have a incredible variety of dialects. For many it’s like mini-languages. You’ll might like one, and hate another xD And I can’t mention Norwegian music without coming with a few metal examples. xD But anyway, examples (shamelessly googling):
Vamp (ft. Eivør Pálsdóttir) - Tir N’a Noir (“Tir N’a Noir is a fictive place. Chorus in Faroese)
Seigmen - Hjernen er Alene (“The brain is alone”)
Gåte - Sjå Attende (“Look back” or “Look behind you”)
Ravi og DJ Løv - Tsjeriå (“Cheerio”. It’s very ‘what the actual fuck’. I guess this is me trolling xD)
Nora Brockstedt - Voi Voi (Perhaps me trolling a bit more. I don’t know. I honestly like this lady.)
And I am shocked to find out that the man who was my doctor at some point when I was a kid, got a song into the Top 100 chart. It translates to “Stomp a Smurf”. Basically a song where he describes how much he hates Smurfs xD “Smurfs don’t run too fast, so stomp them down and wipe ‘em off.”
My childhood… Oh well. I never liked the smurfs that much.
I also got an ask, someone wanting more Kaizers Orchestra with English subtitles. Answering that one as well:
Kaizers Orchestra - Evig Pint (Eternally Tormented)
Kaizers Orchestra - Knekker deg til sist ((We’ll) Break You in the End)
Why do you have purple hair now?
So I can camouflage myself the day I open the suffering buttons of Sherlock’s purple shirt of sex. With my teeth.
Challenge: Draw a quick doodle of yourself
ME DURING LECTURE
Lolololol. I’m just making fun of myself.
your blog is amazing. like seriously, you must put so much time and effort in to it, it's just beautiful.
Thank you so much. Yes, I spend too much time on it, I think xD But positive, nice people like you make tumblr into such a wonderful place =)
It’s all the funny, clever and witty asks and feedbacks that keeps this blog going, really. So it’s all thanks to you. =)
Purple you say? Show us! (And I'm sorry if I've missed earlier posts)
Uhm. Okay. In bright light, it can be like this.
But for the most of the time, it’s more aubergine-ish. (Since the sun abandon us every winter) Like this
(random pic where I’m randomly showing off my Moriarty-tie)
And just a friendly advice: If you’re curious about me, ask me - and not my friends =) (No offence, but it’s a bit creepy. Although I guess I am a bit flattered.)
=) Take care.
